Music Bio

Andrew Schneider is a guitarist, singer and songwriter. He has been teaching guitar for over 15 years. Andrew teaches a variety of styles including folk, country, blues, rock, pop, ragtime, bluegrass and jazz. His experiences include touring with multiple bands, opening for the Farmgrass music festival and live performances on TV. He has an adaptive teaching style that builds from the natural strengths of each student. Currently, he has a lively career teaching and performing music in Austin Texas.

Andrew teaches students their favorite songs, employs method books to build music fundamentals, and shares with beginner guitar players some of his favorite licks and riffs that are addictive to play and perform for others He encourages students to use there own expression and creativity to improve their playing.

Sight reading, ear training, strength building, visualization, music theory and stylistic techniques are all incorporated into his lessons. For younger children he is masterful engaging students in age-appropriate activities,  turning exercises into games, helping children write songs, and other activities that develop music potential! 

Andrew plays all over Austin in all types of settings! You might catch him entertaining kids at libraries, playing at old folks homes, farmers markets, restaurants or parties. You can see him play weekly at Conan's Pizza, La Barbecue, Potbelly's and Firefly's. He toured with the rock band “Silver Ships” , opened the first annual “Farmgrass Festival” and was featured on Jimmy Kimmel's local live show in front of his SXSW audience. He is currently working on a children's album all about gardening!
