Throughout his teenage years he studied with several private guitar and piano instructors learning classical, jazz, rock and other popular styles. He went on to earn an Associates of Arts In Music Performance/composition at Austin Community College.

Jim has been an active player in the Austin Music Community for almost 20 years, performing, recording, and collaborating with members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Asleep at the Wheel, and many others.

Jim has been teaching music to students of all ages for over 10 years, with an emphasis on customizing lesson plans to suit their individual needs!
