Luke Smith - Piano, Guitar

I believe that the best thing I can do as a teacher is foster each student’s enthusiasm for making music.
— Luke Smith, Westlake Lessons Instructor

Luke Smith is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Saxophone from the University of North Texas. While at UNT, he also studied piano with Greg Satterthwaite and began performing professionally on piano, bass guitar, and saxophone.

Luke has performed and recorded with several artists including Westmoreland, St. Yuma, Hunter Cox, John Collins Mclaughlin, and Samuel Caster and is currently working on his debut album as a leader. He can be heard playing keyboards, bass, saxophone, flute, and clarinet on the Westmoreland album Latino Ballroom.

Luke began teaching private music lessons for Plano ISD after graduating from UNT two years ago. He believes that music is for everyone, and his primary goal in teaching is to help each student personally discover the joy of making music by creating a safe space for students to try new things.
